Seidl: McLaren now has ‘clear aim’ of more F1 podiums
McLaren’s return to the top-three last weekend in Brazil, courtesy of a spirited drive by Carlos Sainz, is a prelude to the outfit fighting for podiums in the future on “outright performance” says team boss Andreas Seidl. After a dismal four-year period during which Formula 1’s second most successful team was but a shadow of its former self, McLaren has finally pulled itself out of its enduring slump. A man had seizures after eating hot pot. Turns out he had tapeworms in his brain
About a month ago, Zhu (a pseudonym for the patient), from Quzhou, in eastern Zhejiang province, bought pork and mutton to cook in a spicy hot pot broth, according to a report published last week by the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University. ### A few days later, he began to feel dizzy, and suffered headaches during the day, the report said. During the night, while he was sleeping, Zhu would experience seizure-like symptoms, similar to epilepsy. ### Zhu’s coworkers found him during such a seizure, and quickly sent him to a nearby hospital, where a CT scan showed “intercranial calcifications” and lesions in his skull. However, Zhu declined any…

1 in 2 Indians paid a bribe at least once in the past year, survey finds
The survey, conducted by independent anti-corruption advocates Transparency International India (TII) and social media platform LocalCircles, found that bribery had actually reduced by 10% over the past year. But it remains rampant, with 51% of respondents admitting they had paid bribes. ### Corruption remains “part and parcel of daily life in India,” said a press release from TII. Scientists have discovered a ‘monster’ black hole that’s so big it shouldn’t exist
It’s a stellar black hole — the type that forms after stars die, collapse, and explode. Researchers had previously believed that the size limit was no more than 20 times the mass of our sun because as these stars die, they lose most of their mass through explosions that expel matter and gas swept away by stellar winds. ### This theory has now been toppled by LB-1, the newly-discovered black hole. Located about 15,000 light years away, it has a mass 70 times greater than our sun, according to a press release from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. ### The findings were published by Chinese researchers in the journal Nature…
