Steiner: Haas F1 “as ready as you can be” for Melbourne
Haas team principal Guenther Steiner says the American newcomers are “as ready as you can be” ahead of their grand prix debut in Melbourne, but admits it would have liked to run more in pre-season testing. While Haas enjoyed a fairly smooth first group session in Barcelona, it suffered a disjointed second week amid a series of hindrances that included a fuel system issue and problems with the turbo and brake-by-wire system. As a result, Haas completed the fewest laps this winter with 474, i.e 10 less than second last Manor in the mileage rankings. Asked how ready F1’s newest entrants were before their maiden race weekend, Steiner replied: “As ready as…

Magnussen ‘couldn’t have asked for more’ from testing
Kevin Magnussen says he could not have asked for better preparation for his first season with Renault following a productive pre-season of testing. While Renault suffered from some reliability problems on a number of occasions, the vast majority fell on days when Jolyon Palmer was driving the car. Magnussen, on the other hand, enjoyed four relatively smooth days which saw him complete more than 500 laps and he says the pre-season could not have gone better in terms of track time. “We have done more than 100 laps on every day and in total more than 500 in the four days,” Magnussen said. “So yeah, I couldn’t have asked for more…

NFL playoff clinching scenarios already are in play, and we still have five weeks remaining in the 2019 regular season. It should come as no surprise that the two teams with 10-1 records, the Patriots and 49ers, are among those that have the year’s first chances to clinch spots in the NFL playoff picture. But the 9-2 Saints will have the first chance. New Orleans will play in Atlanta on Thanksgiving Night, and the Saints with a win would clinch the NFC South title for the third consecutive year. Even if the Saints and Falcons…
