    Italy the weak link as West forges Syria plan

    Italy has emerged as a weak link as the West gears up to launch military action against Syria in retaliation for chemical attacks on civilians. Paolo Gentiloni, who is caretaker prime minister after last month’s inconclusive general election, on Thursday said Italy would not participate in any bombing campaign against Syria. It would only offer “logistical support” to allies like Britain. "Italy will not participate in Syrian military actions," Mr Gentiloni said in a statement.     Zanardi moved back to intensive care unit as condition worsens

    Alex Zanardi was transferred back to an intensive care unit in Milan on Friday following a worsening of the Italian driver’s condition. Last week, Zanardi was moved from the Santa Maria alle Scotta hospital in Siena, where the 53-year-old was being treated for severe head injuries sustained last month in a handbike accident, to a specialized rehabilitation center in the province of Lecco. The development was viewed as a positive event and a first step in the former F1 driver’s recovery process.     EDMOND, Okla. — Minnesota State University Moorhead senior Conner Monk recorded a pair of pins to advance to the semifinals at 174 pounds at the Super Regional 3 Tournament Friday in Edmond, Okla. Also keeping their national tournament hopes alive for MSUM were freshman Blake Bosch (125 pounds) and senior Matt Lewellen (184). Eight of the 10 Dragon entrants won at least one match on the day.
