Tag Team titles change hands on WWE Raw
In a surprise, Drew McIntyre and Dolph Ziggler are the new Raw tag team champions. Former champions the B-Team (Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel) were originally supposed to face The Revival for the titles after both Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson scored wins last week against them. However, Ziggler and McIntyre came into acting General Manager Baron Corbin’s office and wanted a title match. Corbin said that if something were to happen to the Revival, they would need to make other arrangements. Democratic Republic of Congo on Friday rejected an African Union demand to delay announcing final results from its presidential election, compounding the turmoil surrounding a chaotic vote that many fear could fan widespread unrest. In a surprise announcement on Thursday, the AU called for the results to be postponed because of "serious doubts" over the conduct of the election, which was supposed to mark Congo’s first democratic handover of power in 59 years of independence but which the runner-up candidate says was rigged. Kid Yamamoto passes away at 41 years old
Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto, who for years was considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world and was a major crossover star in Japan, passed away on Tuesday in Japan. He was 41. Yamamoto had announced on 8/26 that he was battling cancer. Yamamoto was part of a famous wrestling family in Japan. His father, Ikuei Yamamoto represented Japan in the 1972 Olympics in Munich. His two older sisters, Miyu and Seiko, were multi-time world champions. Miyu, who is 44, is a regular star with Rizin.
