Despite warnings that there could be a decrease in Lottery funding due to a reduction in players UK Sport, who allocate resources, have given triathlon and paratriathlon a slight increase for the Tokyo cycle (£8,127,753 versus the £7,457,997 given for Rio). The International Triathlon Union (ITU) has named Edmonton in Canada as the host city for the ITU World Championships Grand Final in 2020. Tainted alcohol in Costa Rica kills at least 20 people

The ministry said on Wednesday that it searched a facility belonging to one of the suppliers of the alcohol and confiscated boxes of the product.
