What a great weekend for British women triathletes – not only did Helen Jenkins win WTS Gold Coast but there were two Brits on the Ironman Port Elizabeth podium; Susie Cheetham in silver and Lucy Gossage in bronze. Legendary motorsport commentator Murray Walker, an immensely popular figure who commanded huge affection among fans and in the F1 paddock, has passed away at the age of 97. Walker, whose passion for motorsport was inspired by his father, a works Norton motorcycle rider, did occasional F1 commentaries in the 1970s before focusing full time on the sport in 1978 with the BBC. Although it is commonly believed that exercise helps fight, and prevent cancer, scientists have been unable to explain quite why until now.  However University of Copenhagen now believe that have found a link that explains why running can reduce cancer risk and tumour growth.
