2019 WWE Tribute to the Troops Update
For the 17th year in a row, WWE honored members of the U.S. military at the annual Tribute to the Troops special on December 6, with live pro-wrestling at the Marine Corps Air Station New River in Jacksonville, North Carolina.
According to PWInsider.com, the event is not currently scheduled to air on the USA Network, and there has reportedly been no internal discussion to air it as a special on the WWE Network.
The very first Tribute to the Troops event in 2003 was said to be the creation of JBL, and saw the roster travel to Camp Victory in Baghdad, Iraq to entertain the troops stationed overseas. This tradition continued for five years, with the shows broadcast as special episodes of Raw/Smackdown.
Since 2008, Tribute to the Troops has been taped domestically at U.S. military bases around the country, and broadcast on either NBC or the USA Network. Unless something changes, this will be the first time since its creation that the special does not air on television.
