Breaking News: New Tag Team Champions Crowned on Impact Wrestling
DJZ and the “Sky-Walker” himself Andrew Everett have captured the Impact World Tag Team Championships, kicking off tonight’s episode of Impact Wrestling on Pop TV in a major way.
The now-former champions, Eli Drake and Scott Steiner, won the titles back at Impact Redemption after the former cashed in his Feast or Fired briefcase awarding him an automatic championship opportunity with the partner of his choosing. It originally looked like the unlikely duo had the match put away, but after an accidental chair shot from Big Poppa Pump, taking out his own partner, Everett was able to connect with a standing shooting star press to pick up the victory.

This marks the first reign as Impact World Tag Team Champions for both men, and is Everett’s first time holding a major televised championship altogether. DJZ is also a former two-time X-Division Champion.
