Yesterday was the 21 year anniversary of the debut of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson that took place at Survivor Series. The Rock took time to reflect on his debut via his Twitter account after ESPN posted a video highlighting then Rocky Maivia’s fantastic debut. The Rock says that his goal was just to buy his parents their first home and three years later he was able to do just that.

2hrs before this PPV starts, Vince McMahon calls me in his office (I thought I was in trouble) he said, “You’re going over tonight”, meaning I was going to win. I was shocked. 3 months later my career crashed hard but that negative eventually became my positive. #grateful 🙏🏾 https://t.co/0MDBSPiH2M

Crazy it all started 21yrs ago today. Made my @wwe debut. My #1 goal was buy my parents their first home. 3yrs later in ‘99 I was able to. No idea where this crazy road would lead me, I just knew I was willing to work my ass off and that I loved the hell outta Waffle House https://t.co/dHkJByOqQi

Fellow wrestlers Tessa Blanchard and No Way Jose took the time to thank “The Great One” for inspiring their careers and motivating them to become who they are. Even Sports Illustrated celebrated the Brahma Bull.
