Yankees continue home-run streak, set new club record | Sporting News

The Yankees set a new club record Sunday.

New York hit a home run in its 26th straight game, moving it past the 1941 team for the most in franchise history.

The Yankees tied the previous mark Saturday and then broke the record against the Astros one day later.

By coincidence, it was No. 26 who helped the team reach the new record.

DJ LeMahieu hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to help cut Houston’s lead.

The Yankees ended up dropping the game, 9-4, but still remain in control of the American League East.

They will enter their next series against the Blue Jays with a 49-27 record and five games ahead of the second-place Rays.
