Rangers transfer news: Odds slashed from 16/1 to 6/4 on former Liverpool man Daniel Sturridge to join Steven Gerrard’s side
Daniel Sturridge could be about to team up with former Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard at Rangers following a spate of bets over the last week.
The striker, 29, is on the lookout for a new club after his Reds contract expired at the end of June.
And now, the odds on Sturridge joining the Glasgow side have fallen dramatically from 16/1 to just 6/4.
This is due to a heavy influx of wagers on the Englishman swapping Anfield for Ibrox.
According to Oddschecker, 64 per cent of all bets on the striker’s next move are backing Rangers as his next destination.
Oddschecker spokesperson Callum Wilson said: “Steven Gerrard will be desperate to shatter Celtic’s Scottish sovereignty, and his old Liverpool mucker could be the final piece of Rangers’ puzzle.
“If he stays fit and hungry, Sturridge could be Stevie G’s ticket into the Gers’ folklore.”
However, Celtic are also in contention to sign Sturridge with the Scottish champions 25/1 outsiders to land him.
