Liverpool transfer news: Champions League winners set to make £67m offer to Real Madrid for Marco Asensio

Liverpool are considering making a £67million move for Real Madrid star Marco Asensio, according to reports.

Despite his obvious talent, the Spain international has struggled for regular playing time at the Bernabeu, since he joined from Real Mallorca in 2014.

Spanish media outlet El Desmarque report that the Champions League winners are interested in the player and Jurgen Klopp is a known admirer of Asensio.

It is not the first time Asensio has been linked with a move to the Premier League.

Last month, The Sun reported that Tottenham wanted the 22-year-old to come to north London as part of any deal for Christian Eriksen – even if it was on loan initially – considering he has a €700million release clause (£625m).

However, he is a favourite of Zinedine Zidane’s, who was reappointed Los Blancos manager back in March, and is expected to play a key role under the France legend moving forward.
