Chelsea pre-season fixtures: Frank Lampard to start new job with showpiece friendly against Barcelona – games, dates, times and venues
Chelsea have had a major summer of change on and off the field already this summer ahead of the new campaign.
The Blues secured a successful season under Maurizio Sarri last term despite issues surrounding the club.
They finished third in the Premier League table, won the Europa League and reached the Carabao Cup final despite rumours of unrest in west London throughout the term.
Chelsea have already seen star man Eden Hazard leave for Real Madrid while Sarri has also gone, joining Serie A giants Juventus.
The Blues have now appointed Frank Lampard as their new chief and he is set to start work back at his former club.
Lampard will have their transfer ban to contend with meaning it’ll be a busy few months for the club before the Premier League returns on August 10.
Despite their problems, Chelsea have confirmed their pre-season fixtures for the off-season and it includes a trip to Japan.
The Blues will take on LaLiga champions Barcelona in Asia during their schedule which will also see them make the trip to Turkey for their UEFA Super Cup clash against Liverpool.
