Tottenham midfielder Victor Wanyama completes £10million transfer to Club Brugge, talkSPORT understands

Victor Wanyama has left Tottenham to join Belgian side Brugge, talkSPORT understands.

The midfielder, 28, reunited with Mauricio Pochettino from former club Southampton in 2016 on a five-year contract.

However, Wanyama has struggled to cement his place in the first-team and the signings of the likes of Tanguy N’dombele and Giovani Lo Celso would only make it more difficult.

So Wanyama has sought a new challenge in Belgium with Brugge and Spurs understood to have agreed a £10million fee for the Kenya international.

This fee could potentially rise to £13m in add-ons.

Wanyama is not the first player Brugge have bought from the Premier League this summer, with goalkeeper Simon Mignolet joining from Liverpool this month.

Like Spurs, Brugge will also be competing in the 2019/20 Champions League proper.

Brugge will have it all to do to reach the last-16 of the competition, however, as they’ve been drawn alongside Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Galatasaray in Group A.
