Bristol City boss Lee Johnson hit with misconduct charge by Football Association
Lee Johnson has been served with a misconduct charge by the Football Association.
The Bristol City boss allegedly used abusive language towards a match official following his side’s 3-0 defeat to Luton in the Championship last weekend.
An FA spokesperson said: “Bristol City manager Lee Johnson has been charged with being in breach of FA Rule E3 following the EFL Championship fixture between Luton Town and Bristol City on Saturday October 19 2019.
“It is alleged that, following the conclusion of the fixture, his language towards a match official was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper. He has until 1800 on Monday October 28 2019 to respond.”
Johnson could be hit with a touchline ban if he is found guilty of the charge.

The 38-year-old slammed his team’s ‘lackadaisical’ attitude after their thrashing at Kenilworth Road.
Second-half strikes from Pelly-Ruddock Mpanzu, Harry Cornick and an Ashley Williams own goal in injury-time ended the Robins’ 10-match unbeaten run in the Championship.
However, they bounced back from that setback with a 2-1 comeback win over Charlton on Wednesday.
Johnson’s men are fourth in the Championship table after 13 games.
