El Tri will host a Luis Suarez-led Uruguay side in Houston on Friday as they look towards a new era of international football
Mexico will face off against Uruguay at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Friday as El Tri welcome a new generation of rising stars.
Uruguay will be fielding an experienced side similar to the one that featured in the World Cup finals this summer, though with the noted absence of striker Edinson Cavani who is injured.
El Tri will be without a host of their experienced players and no less than nine players are on course to be granted with their first call-up to the senior team should they feature against Uruguay.

Mexico has introduced a string of fresh call-ups in the likes of Erick Aguirre, Roberto Alvardo, Jose Javier Abella and Diego Lainez.
Veterans Javier Hernandez and Carlos Vela are among the absentees from the squad to face Uruguay, as they have opted to remain behind with their respective clubs.

Edinson Cavani is being rested for the friendly after only recently returning to full fitness following a hamstring injury that he picked up at the World Cup during the victory over Portugal.

Uruguay will head into the fixture as favourites having just lost one match in 2018 – the quarterfinal loss against eventual world champion France this summer in Russia – and led by the star likes of Diego Godin and Suarez.
Mexico, however, will be fielding a team of youngsters, with 15 of the current El Tri squad members under the age of 25 with nine of the players earning their first call-up to the team against Uruguay. The CONCACAF side has brought in a number of domestic players instead of squad members playing abroad.
Regulars Hernandez, Vela and Hector Herrera have not been included in Ricardo Ferretti squad as they preferred to remain with their domestic clubs during the international break, and it will give opportunity for the next generation of Mexico’s rising stars to stake their claim in the team.
Uruguay has named a team similar to the one that participated in the Russia finals, with the obvious exception of Cavani who is still recovering from a hamstring injury.
El Tri failed to live up to expectations at the world Cup after losing two of their World Cup matches, but were an entertaining watch all throughout the competition with their ability on the counterattack.
Oberlin Pineda, Erick Gutierrez and Angel Zaldivar will be eager to impress Feretti during the Uruguay friendly while attention will also be focused on rising star Diego Lainez.
