Man City boss Pep Guardiola appears to mock Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl for time-wasting

It’s safe to say Pep Guardiola wasn’t too impressed with some of Ralph Hasenhuttl’s touchline antics during Man City’s 2-1 victory over Southampton.

When the Saints led in the second-half, the Spaniard seemed to be frustrated with his counterpart for holding onto the ball for too long whilst his side searched for an equaliser.

But footage has emerged of Guardiola seemingly having the last laugh and mocking Hasenhuttl on the sideline after Kyle Walker’s goal gave them the lead.

The former Barcelona boss can be seen sarcastically handing the ball to the Austrian manager as if to say: ‘Why don’t you want the ball now?’

Nevertheless, the reigning champions kept in touch with the leaders with their hard-fought win at the Etihad.

James Ward-Prowse gave Saints a shock lead with an effort on the rebound after City goalkeeper Ederson spilled Stuart Armstrong’s shot.

The Citizens levelled the scores 20 minutes from time through the ever-dependable Sergio Aguero and found the winner when Kyle Walker smashed the ball home after Alex McCarthy failed to clear a corner from the left.
