Racing Point could be set to partner with Aston Martin as team owner Lawrence Stroll eyes an investment in the luxury car maker.

According to a joint report from Autocar and RaceFans, the 60-year-old billionaire who led the consortium that took over Force India last year is considering another big four-wheel deal.

Stroll built his estimated $2.5 billion fortune in the world of fashion, investing in famous brands such as Tommy Hilfiger and Michael Kors, but the Canadian’s passion for cars is well chronicled and fueled his business endeavors in the world of F1, first as a sponsor and then as a team owner.

Reports suggest Stroll Sr. has put together a group of investors which could take a controlling stake in Aston Martin and steer the automotive company into a prosperous future.

Such a plan, should it come to pass, would inevitably lead to Aston Martin joining forces with Racing Point in Formula 1, a partnership that would also make perfect business as the two companies would reside under a common umbrella.

Furthermore, Aston Martin currently enjoys a technical alliance with Mercedes which powers Racing Point’s chargers in F1.

A partnership between Racing Point and Aston Martin would spell the end to the latter’s current association with Red Bull Racing. Questions would remain however over Aston’s future WEC hyper car programme which is scheduled to be conducted in association with RBR’s engineering department.

Will Racing Point’s cars soon swap their pink robe for a British racing green attire?
