Paul Pogba set to miss Arsenal game as Manchester United ‘grow tired of midfielder’s antics’
Paul Pogba is expected to miss Manchester United’s first game of 2020 against Arsenal on Wednesday night, amid reports the club are frustrated with the midfielder and his agent Mino Raiola.
After missing Saturday’s 2-0 win over Burnley, manager Ole Gunnar Solksjaer suggested the French midfielder would be in contention for a return to the team.
But he was not pictured with the rest of the squad as they boarded a train for London on New Year’s Eve, and there was no sight of him when they arrived at their hotel in the capital.
And it is claimed Pogba will sit out of the New Year’s Day clash against the Gunners as he continues his stint on the sidelines.
Pogba’s last start for United came back in September 30 against Arsenal.
He was kept on the sidelines for three months with an ankle injury, and recently came off the bench Watford and Newcastle, before apparently claiming he needed a break and sat out of the Burnley game.
However, he then flew over to France the following day to support and watch his brothers play in a charity game.
And the Daily Mail claim United chiefs are ‘tired’ of the midfielder’s antics after a number of incidents that was raised doubts over his commitment to the club.
Pogba caused a stir earlier this year when he was filming playing basketball with Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler while he was supposed to be recovering from ankle surgery, and after delaying his return from injury due to illness, he then posted a video of himself danding at his brother Florentin’s wedding in Paris.
His agent, Raiola, has also been vocal in his criticism of United and their handling of his client in recent weeks.
Alan Brazil suggests Paul Pogba doesn't care about Man United
And in his latest rant about United, he claimed the ‘out of touch’ club would have ruined the careers of football greats Diego Maradona, Pele and Paulo Maldini.
Pogba has been strongly linked with a move away from Old Trafford, but it is widely understood he will be going nowhere in January, although links with Real Madrid and Barcelona are unlikely to go away before the transfer window opens again in the summer.
