Jim Ross Says AEW Will Be on TV in October, Undertaker in NYC
All Elite Wrestling will be premiering in May with their huge Double or Nothing show. Although fans are eagerly awaiting the announcement of a weekly TV series from the promotion, AEW officials are taking their time with the breaking news updates. However, it was announced this week that Jim Ross has signed a contract with AEW and will begin working with them shortly. Ross will be contributing behind the scenes, but there is also a chance that he could do some commentary on AEW events as well. Ross has been hyping up his AEW signing for a while now, but the news was finally confirmed this week. The legendary announcer informed fans this week that getting on television is definitely still a major goal for the promotion.
For a while, there has not been a whole lot of news surrounding AEW’s possible TV discussions, but Ross provided an update during an interview with WFAN in New York. According to the WWE Hall of Famer, the promotion has already secured a television deal. Not only that, but the current plan is for the show to air every week for two hours. Ross also claimed that the show will be premiering in October, but he did not get into any specifics beyond those points. Landing a major television deal would be a game-changer for AEW for sure. Until then, fans will have to keep checking back frequently for future updates. AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view airs on May 25th, and it will be their first official show.
With each passing day, there has been little mention of The Undertaker competing during WrestleMania 35 on Sunday. Undertaker has wrestled on every WrestleMania card since 2001, so missing the event is certainly unlike him. However, fans have spotted “The Deadman” in New York City recently, which just so happens to be the same area where WWE is hosting most of their WrestleMania 35 weekend activities. This does not necessarily mean that “The Phenom” will be added to the card this year, but now that he is in town, it seems more than likely that he will at least mane an onscreen appearance of some sort during the show. Check out WrestleMania 35 this Sunday to see what the company has in mind for The Undertaker.
