Net closing around alleged ringleader of audacious North Korea embassy raid
The US authorities have launched a manhunt for a human rights activist accused of leading a violent raid of North Korea’s embassy to Spain, according to a federal arrest warrant that was unsealed on Friday.
Adrian Hong is the alleged ringleader of a seven-strong team behind February’s dramatic storming of the embassy who, claim the Spanish authorities, were armed with knives and iron bars, beat and tied up staff and stole computer equipment that was later offered to the FBI.
Spain is now demanding Hong’s extradition to face charges including breaking and entering, illegal restraint, robbery and causing injury.
