1st Matches for Mixed Match Challenge, Updates on Rock & Rollins

WWE announced earlier this week that they would be bringing back the Mixed Match Challenge for a second season later on this month on Facebook Watch. All of the teams for the show have been confirmed already, and fans are know speculating which team could end up winning the tournament and earning $100,000 for a charity of their choosing. While details on the tournament and certain matches remain uncertain at this time, the company has just announced two of the matches that will be taking place once the Mixed Match Challenge officially starts. The first match will see Natalya & Kevin Owens take on Alexa Bliss & Braun Strowman, then AJ Styles & Charlotte Flair team up to face Jimmy Uso & Naomi.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has largely remained away from the ring in recent years due to his busy schedule for various other projects, but Johnson admitted earlier this year that he has been getting the itch to return to WWE lately. WWE is reportedly now in the process of putting together a match between The Rock and Roman Reigns for a major event such as WrestleMania next year. According to BarnBurner’s Fired Up podcast, the company is negotiating with The Rock to make three appearances over the next few months. The first reportedly will be for SmackDown’s 1000th episode in October, then the Royal Rumble in January, and of course, the last appearance would be for WrestleMania 35 this April.

Fans were devastated to learn that WWE Superstar Seth Rollins may have suffered an injury earlier this week after he was thrown into a police car window on Raw. His left arm had some noticeable scratches and gashes on it after the incident took place, and it seemed as if this would be an injury that would force Rollins to take some time off from wrestling. However, several reports have noted that Rollins has not been taken off of any upcoming live events and that he is still scheduled to compete on the shows in Alabama and Texas this weekend. Although Rollins’ arm is still likely not fully recovered yet, it appears that the former world champion will be working through the injury and will continue to compete on all WWE events for now.
