Vikings cap off busy week with SDSU dual at the Sanford Pentagon
Augustana (0-0) continues competition with a busy week ahead as they compete in three duals this week. The Vikings travel to Mitchell, S.D. on Thursday, Dec. 4 with duals against Northwestern (Iowa) and Dakota Wesleyan as part of the triangler hosted by Dakota Wesleyan. Augustana handled both NAIA opponents last year winning 38-3 over Northwestern and 43-9 over Dakota Wesleyan. To cap off the week, the Vikings will host South Dakota State at the Sanford Pentagon on Sunday, Dec. 7 with a start time of 2 p.m.
Augustana will continue competition the following week traveling to Sioux City, Iowa to face-off against Morningside. The last time the two teams met was a year ago as the Vikings defeated the Mustangs 19-15.
Vs Northwestern
• Augustana will matchup against Northwestern to begin the triangler duals on Thursday, Dec. 4
• The Vikings will compete against Northwestern on Thursday, Dec. 4 with a start time of 4 p.m.
• Augustana wrestled against the Red Raiders last season winning 38-3, using three pins and a technical fall.
• The Vikings only suffered one loss, by one point, as they won the other nine bouts to win 38-3.
• Northwestern comes into the triangler (0-1).

Vs Dakota Wesleyan
• Augustana will follow the Northwestern matchup competing against Dakota Wesleyan on Thursday Dec. 4 with a start time of 6 p.m.
• Dakota Wesleyan hosts the triangler duals coming in with a 0-1 record.
• The last time the Vikings met up with the Tigers was last season winning 43-9, behind three pins and a pair of technical falls.
Vs South Dakota State
• Sunday’s dual will mark the 52nd mark that Augustana and South Dakota State have matched up.
• The Vikings will host the Jackrabbits on Sunday, Dec. 7 with a start time of 2 p.m at the Sanford Pentagon.
• The Jackrabbits hold the overall edge against Augustana with a overall record of 35-16.
• Last season, both teams matched up, with the Jackrabbits winning 17-15.
10 Vikings Place at the Holiday Inn Open
• Jayd Docken (197 pounds, unattached), Michael Lowman (285 pounds, unattached), Mason Brownlee (141 pounds, unattached), and Clay Broze (285 pounds, unattached) all tabbed second-place.
• Shawn Hatlestad (157 pounds, unattached) and Lane Blasius (157 pounds, unattached) took third-place, while Aero Amo (184 pounds, unattached) and Clayton Wahlstrom (184 pounds, unattached) finished fourth place.
• Javier Vieyra (125 pounds, unattached) and Tim Weber (165 pounds, unattached) finished fifth to round out the top 10 performances.
