Man Utd, Juventus, AC Milan & the 20 European clubs with the biggest debt
Following the release of the latest UEFA benchmarking report, Goal counts down the clubs which owe the most money
For football clubs, debt can be catastrophic, leading to the potential for administration, winding-up orders or points deductions, which can all be applied if a club is run badly enough.
The majority of clubs are in debt but, for most of these, it doesn’t matter because they could be in a position to pay it off, if they wanted or needed to.
For others, though, it endangers their future as a club. Teams such as CSKA Moscow make this list, but their revenues aren’t close to covering what they owe.
