Latest on Daniel Bryan, Enzo Amore Update, Apollo Crews vs. Moose
Daniel Bryan was medically disqualified from ever competing in the ring again by WWE doctors back in 2016. However, Bryan has vocally made it clear that he will likely continue to wrestle elsewhere after his deal with WWE expires if the company does not clear him to return. Despite being rumored for an appearance in the men’s Royal Rumble match, he was still nowhere to be seen. The latest update on Bryan’s status with WWE, provided by Brad Shepard of Bodyslam.net, reveals that Bryan’s time in WWE will be coming to an end in just two more months. Unfortunately, it does not look like he will be getting cleared to return to the ring. Bryan himself has stated that he would likely never wrestle for WWE again if he is not cleared by the time WrestleMania rolls around in April.
Former Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore was abruptly suspended and later released from WWE after he had been accused of sexually assaulting a young woman back in October of 2017. Though Enzo has not been proven guilty as of right now, WWE reportedly decided to sever all ties with him because he neglected to inform the company that he was being investigated by the police for the crime. Amore’s accuser, Philomena Sheahan, has since uploaded a video wherein she claimed that she recently attempted to commit suicide by overdosing on an antidepressant known as Trazadone. She also addresses her own past and continues to claim that her statements are true. Sheahan said that she was 12 days sober at the time of recording the video and was released from a mental hospital on February 9th. Shortly after Enzo’s WWE release was reported, his attorney denied that these incidents ever took place.
Fans likely will not be getting a ‘WWE vs. Impact Wrestling’ type of match any time soon, unless a former Impact star joins WWE and then competes against the current WWE roster. However, a major exception to that belief was just made recently. PWInsider first reported that Raw Superstar Apollo Crews recently return to the independent circuit for one night only to take on an interesting opponent. Crews competed against current Impact Wrestling talent Moose during a Preston City Wrestling event in the United Kingdom over the weekend. Crews managed to get a win for Titus Worldwide and WWE by defeating Moose during the show. He will now move on in PCW’s Road to Glory tournament.
