Knockout Departs Impact, Buly Ray Confirms Retirement, Phillips
It was announced earlier today that Impact Wrestling’s Taryn Terrell had to be removed from her match at Bound for Glory due to a concussion. Terrell is one of the company’s most popular female wrestlers, so fans were excited when she returned to the promotion two months ago. Unfortunately, Impact sent out a tweet later in the day announcing that Terrell has left the promotion. Terrell previously worked for the company from 2012-2016 before she returned to the company back in August. There is no word on whether or not Terrell intends to continue wrestling, but it definitely looks as though she will not be working with Impact Wrestling going forward.
Update: @IAmTarynTerrell & #IMPACT are mutually parting ways. Taryn would like to pursue other career options and she has our full support. We wish Taryn well in whatever she does next. pic.twitter.com/3PzY541t2u

After being hit hard in the head with a table at Ring of Honor’s Death Before Dishonor pay-per-view, it was speculated that Bubba Ray Dudley (Bully Ray) would have to retire from the ring due to an injury. Ray recently announced that he would be retiring at ROH’s Global Wars event. In case there was every any doubt, Bully Ray confirmed that he is now retired from the ring on a recent edition of the Busted Open Radio program. Ray also stated that he is still under contract to ROH at the moment, and that he will be attending tonight’s Philadelphia Excellence show. “The minute they open the doors at the ECW Arena, I am going to do my best to shake everybody’s hand that walks into the ECW Arena that night for Ring of Honor. That way, I can look everybody in the eye and tell them thank you.” Ray said.
Smackdown announcer Tom Phillips recently filled in for Michael Cole on Raw a few weeks ago since Cole decided to attend his son’s wedding. However, this week Tom Phillips was nowhere to be found for his usual announcing duties on Smackdown. A new report from WrestlingNews.co may have confirmed why Phillips did not attend this week’s show. The report mentions that Phillips himself got married earlier this week, and he apparently missed the show because he was on his honeymoon. Tom Phillips is positioned as the lead announcer on the Smackdown brand, so it is likely that he will be back on the show by next Tuesday.
