Lucha Underground News, Original Plans for SD Match, Emma Update
One of the most interesting professional wrestling programs on TV right now is Lucha Underground. The show has exposed fans to a great number of talent, and the show has been praised for its storytelling and unique take on the sport. Despite this, the show’s future has been in doubt for quite some time now. Even though some reports from representatives of the El Rey Network have suggested that a fourth season of the show may still be on the way, Cageside Seats now reports that it is definitely looking more likely that the show will not be renewed for another season. It appears now that Ultima Lucha Tres could be the final show for the promotion.
Charlotte Flair returned on Smackdown in a big way when she managed to win herself a title opportunity at against Natalya at the upcoming Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. Apparently, Charlotte was always set to win the match, but the match itself would have gone down a bit differently if the original plans were left intact. PWInsider reports that the company was originally going to see Charlotte face off against Becky Lynch and Naomi in a triple threat match in order to determine the winner. Tamina was added to the match instead likely because the match was missing a heel participant. She also took the pin fall loss in the match, which could have been another reason why the match was altered.
Emma has managed to appear on television more often as of late. She has been begging Kurt Angle to give her a chance to shine on Raw, and she has made her way into the Raw Women’s Championship match at No Mercy. On the most recent Raw, the participants of the match all faced off in a brief showdown. Bayley even returned and was later placed in the match, thus changing the Fatal 4-Way match into a Fatal 5-Way instead. However, Emma was nowhere to be found on Raw. PWInsider noted that WWE recently had a tour in Australia, which is the birthplace of Emma. She was not on Raw because she stayed in Australia to visit some members of her family.
