Raw’s Opening Segment Revealed, Lio Rush’s Final Indy Show
On last week’s Raw, we learned that the feud between Dean Ambrose and The Miz is not over yet. The two of them are set to continue feuding over the Intercontinental Championship. During an encounter between Ambrose and the Miz’s entourage, featuring Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, Seth Rollins ran down and decided to help his former Shield partner even the odds. It was announced on WWE.com that Raw this week will open with Dean Ambrose addressing what went down last week with The Miz and Seth Rollins. Be on the lookout for that segment to open what hopefully promises to be a monumental edition of Monday Night Raw later tonight.
This week’s Raw is going to be a very interesting show if the lineup is any indication. We’ll start off with Dean Ambrose continuing his storyline with The Miz and Seth Rollins. Ambrose and Rollins have had numerous matches against each other in the past, so it will be intriguing to see if the two of them will ever team up again, let alone have the program lead to some sort of a reunion with The Shield. We’ll see what happens on Raw this week as Samoa Joe and Roman Reigns will also have a match to decide Brock Lesnar’s opponent for SummerSlam this August. This will also be the show where General Manager Kurt Angle will reveal the details of the mystery text messages that he will be receiving.
One of the biggest, brightest, and youngest stars on the independent wrestling scene right now is Lio Rush. Rush has been on WWE’s radar for quite a while now and news broke recently that the young athlete has been offered a contract with WWE. He is expected to join the company very soon. Maryland Championship Wrestling’s Dan McDevitt confirmed that they will be hosting Lio’s last indy match on August 12th. The promotion was where Rush first arrived and made a name for himself, so it is fitting that this will be the place where his last independent match will take place. Devitt stated that Rush’s final opponent will be determined by Rush himself. The full statement reads as follows:
“Usually The Shamrock Cup is special, last night it was not. It didn’t end the way it was supposed to with our fans having the chance to say goodbye to one of our own homegrown talents. We wanted to give fans that chance so we were able to get something worked out. We are adding Saturday August 12th to the schedule #FinalHour Lio’s last Match.
More info will be up on the site in the next 48 hours, this has been thrown together quickly and will get everything updated asap. He will have his last independent wrestling match in the same building he was trained to be a pro wrestler. I am giving him the option of who he wants to wrestle. It will also be fan appreciation night $10 General Admission Tickets. They are on sale now www.MCWProWrestling.com.”
