CIES Observatory have ranked the most valuable players in the game but who sits at the top of the list?
So who exactly is the most valuable player in world football?
We know the player who went for the most was Neymar when Paris Saint-Germain forked over €222 million (£200m/$263m) to sign him from Barcelona in the summer of 2017, but that was over a year ago – is he even the most valuable player on his own team today?
CIES Observatory has aimed to answer that question as they ranked the transfer value of all the footballers in the top leagues by an algorithm that accounts for a variety of factors, including age, production, current league and contract.

The list has 27 players who are valued at over €100 million, while the top two manage to crack the €200m threshold.
