Impact Statement on Alberto, Zack Sabre Jr. Signs With NJPW, WWE UK Tournament

— Impact Wrestling confirmed this evening that they have released Alberto El Patron from his contract:

IMPACT Wrestling announced today that it has terminated its agreement with Alberto El Patron, effective immediately.

— According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Zack Sabre Jr. is leaving EVOLVE and has signed a new deal with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Meltzer reports that Sabre Jr. will be with NJPW full-time after wrestling for them much of the past year. He lost the EVOLVE championship this weekend to Matt Riddle facilitating his exit and indicated that he would be taking time away from the promotion but that he would be back one day. Even though his deal with NJPW is full-time, Sabre Jr. could still work some independent dates now and again.

— WWE announced further details on the upcoming UK tournament revealing that it will take place at Royal Albert Hall in London, England on June 18th and 19th. While WWE didn’t confirm that this is the same event referenced on Friday as the “King of the Ring”, the assumption is that it is. The tournament will be open to wrestlers in WWE’s UK division.
