Adam Cole-Velveteen Dream segment set up for NXT

The build to Velveteen Dream getting a shot at Adam Cole’s NXT Championship will continue this week.

Cole posted a tweet today challenging Dream to meet him for a face-to-face chat on tomorrow’s episode of NXT: “I have an idea. If he’s got the guts, I want a face to face chat w/ Velveteen this Wednesday on @WWENXT…just the two of us. The Champ & The Dream. It’s time to see if he’s really worthy of a championship opportunity. #AdamColeBayBay #UndisputedERA”

Dream responded by mocking Cole for being vanilla: “Only If U Wear That Scent [I] Like…. That Vanilla Scent COLE”

WWE.com teased whether or not Dream would accept Cole’s invitation.

WWE began building to Cole defending his NXT Championship against Dream prior to TakeOver: Tampa being canceled. On NXT two weeks ago, Dream defeated Undisputed Era’s Bobby Fish after being challenged to the match by Cole.

Video of a promo from Cole aired on NXT last week. He said Dream got lucky against Fish and warned him that lightning doesn’t strike twice. Cole said that — if Dream continues to push things — maybe Cole will wake up one day and feel like ending an experience or shattering his spotlight.

Finn Balor vs. Fabian Aichner is also set for tomorrow’s NXT episode, WWE will follow up on  Charlotte Flair’s NXT Women’s Championship win from WrestleMania 36 and Io Shirai winning last week’s ladder match to become the number one contender to her title, and the interim NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament will begin.
