Arsenal team news: Kieran Tierney could make Premier League debut against Manchester United but Hector Bellerin unlikely to start
Kieran Tierney could make his Premier League debut when Arsenal face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday night.
However, the Gunners are unlikely to be without fellow full-back Hector Bellerin for the clash.
The two defenders made their long-awaited return from injury in their Carabao Cup triumph over Nottingham Forest.
But Bellerin, 24, could miss Arsenal’s next game as he played in their Under-23 clash against Liverpool – the game finishing 2-2.
Unai Emery has suggested Ainsley Maitland-Niles will start ahead of the Spaniard.
Bellerin sustained a knee ligament injury in a 2-0 win over Chelsea in January.
He came on on in the 77th minute for Tierney against Forest and managed to provide an assist in the 5-0 win.
Meanwhile Tierney, 22, who has fully recovered from a double hernia operation, was not included in the Under-23 side squad.
On the returns of Bellerin, Tierney and Rob Holding, Gunners boss Unai Emery said: “It’s amazing news.
“It was amazing to see the people’s reaction of Rob Holding, Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin, who played his first 15 minutes [at the end].
“It was a great moment. We can be a better competitive team with them.
“For us having every player available is the perfect moment.
“Now we have two injuries with [Alexandre] Lacazette and [Emile] Smith Rowe, and hopefully in a few weeks he can be training with the possibility to play.
“Really we are happy with Hector, Rob and Kieran.”
