Arsenal transfers news: The reason Moise Kean REJECTED Gunners in favour of Everton
Moise Kean rejected the chance to join Arsenal in favour of Everton due to their reluctance to promise first-team football, according to reports.
The Juventus striker is set to seal a switch to the Merseyside club in a reported £37m deal, with the youngster set to undergo a medical and complete his move on Wednesday.
Juventus wanted a buy-back clause as part of the deal, but instead they will have the chance to match any offer Everton receive for the 19-year-old.
Now, The Daily Mail report Arsenal did attempt to hijack the deal in its closing stages by contacting both Juventus and the player’s agent, Mino Raiola.
Kean is said to have chosen Everton due to fears he would not be provided with regular game time at the north London club.
Marco Silva reportedly intends to make Kean a key figure in his plans for the forthcoming campaign, while at the Emirates, the 19-year-old would have to compete with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the no.9 spot.
Kean burst onto the scene in Serie A last season with seven goals in 17 appearances, but he was unable to cement a starting spot due to the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic in the Old Lady’s ranks.
The return of Gonzalo Higuain at the club has also made it difficult for Kean to improve on his first-team chances.
And it is believed Kean’s arrival could spark a late flurry of activity in the transfer market at Goodison Park.

Everton have already signed Andre Gomes, Fabian Delph and Jonas Lossl from Barcelona, Man City and Huddersfield respectively this summer.
Meanwhile, Italian football correspondent Sheridan Bird believes Kean is a great coup for Silva and Everton.
“He does have an eye for goal. He has got ice in his veins,” he told talkSPORT 2.
“When I saw him last season he didn’t need many chances to score.
“He is a very tidy finisher and didn’t at all get overwhelmed last year despite his young age and playing for Juventus.”
