The latest World Rugby rankings have seen Wales move into ninth place following this weekend’s Six Nations. Wales fell to 10th following the 10-20 loss to England but have regained ninth after defeating Italy. Wales avoid dropping out of the Top 10 Warren Gatland’s side secured a 29-17 victory over the Azzurri in Rome in Round Four of the Six Nations. Speaking on Téléfoot today, Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger confirmed that he bid €100m for AS Monaco attacking midfielder Thomas Lemar, but that the French international decided to stay with the Principality side. “He is a player with an incredible ability. Records tumbled at Ashton Gate on Friday night as Northampton Saints fell to their heaviest defeat in the Premiership, as Bristol Bears claimed a 62-8 victory. South Africa: Louis Koen appointed as interim Springbok Women’s head coach
SA Rugby have announced that former Springbok fly-half Louis Koen has been appointed as interim head coach of the South African Women’s team for their tour to Spain later this month. He currently serves as SA Rugby’s high-performance manager and will be joined by Junior Springbok Women’s coach Laurian Johannes-Haupt, who will be one of his assistant coaches. Koen, who made 15 Test appearances for the Boks between 2000 and 2003, had a previous stint as interim head coach of South Africa’s premier women’s team when he took a national Select XVs team to the UK in 2017. United Rugby Championship: Scarlets and Cardiff claim victories amid contract turmoil
The Scarlets and Cardiff put all the contract uncertainty in Welsh Rugby aside to deliver convincing victories over Edinburgh and Benetton, respectively, in the United Rugby Championship (URC) on Saturday. Scarlets delivered a dominant home victory over Edinburgh, downing the Scottish outfit 42-14, while Cardiff defeated Benetton 30-13. In an entertaining eight-try encounter, Scarlets outscored Edinburgh six tries to two. PSG have an agreement to sign Wendel from Fluminense – agent
20-year-old midfielder Wendel’s agent Carlos Henrique Brasil has told L’Équipe that his client has reached an agreement to join PSG.
