Updated New Japan World Count According to Dave Meltzer of the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, the latest subscriber count for New Japan World is around 95,000 which has to be considered a major success for the promotion. They reportedly gained 25,000 subscribers in a 48 hour period for Wrestle Kingdom 12 alone this past week. At the start of 2017 the number of subscribers was around 60,000 with 10,000 gained in the days leading up to Wrestle Kingdom 11, so they’re looking at a 58% increase in the last year. Following last night’s WWE TV tapings in Laredo, TX, WWE held a special Royal Rumble match, sponsored by KFC, to determine which WWE star will next play Colonel Sanders. WWE stars Titus O’Neil, Heath Slater, The Miz, Mojo Rawley, Breezango, The Miz and WWE Champion AJ Styles were all participants in the match, which saw Styles get the win after he hit Rusev with a Stone Cold Stunner to get the elimination. As noted, changes are being made within Impact Wrestling as Don Callis and Scott D’Amore have taken over as the new Creative Executives in the company, and one of the changes is the scrapping of the six-sided ring in favor of the traditional four-sided ring.
