Le Parisien report this evening that French President Emmanuel Macron does not want professional football to return for the end of 2019/20 seasons in Spain, Italy, Germany and England following the French government’s decision to block Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 from returning until earliest in August. As it stands, only three major leagues have decided not to finish their 2019/20 campaigns: the Netherlands, Belgium and France. Brest are after Monaco midfielder Romain Faivre – France Football
France Football report that Ligue 1 outfit Brest are in talks over the possible signing of 21-year-old French midfielder Romain Faivre from AS Monaco. Faivre made four appearances for the Principality side during the Thierry Henry era, scoring once. The left-footer is set to quit ASM this summer, at the club where he signed his first professional contract in July 2018. With just 12 months remaining on his current deal, ASM want to move him on as they are in dire need to cut their wage bill, with Brest having engaged in discussions over an agreement. Ligue 1 side Nantes have announced the signing of 25-year-old Cameroonian international central defender Jean-Charles Castelletto on a free transfer from Brest. Castelletto has penned a 3-year contract with Les Canaris, in a move that will formally go through on 1st July. Castelletto passed through the prestigious Clairefontaine academy, signing a first professional contract with Auxerre in 2013. PSG in talks with Oracle about sponsorship deal
L’Équipe report that Ligue 1 side PSG have entered into negotiations with American computer firm Oracle about a possible sponsorship deal. In 2019, Oracle were named by Forbes as the second largest player in their industry. A deal is being negotiated to make Oracle their computer partner. Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting will leave PSG on a free transfer at the end of the month
RMC Sport and Le Parisien have both confirmed today that PSG will not be extending attacker Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting’s contract when it expires at the end of this month and he will leave the club on a free transfer. The 31-year-old scored 5 goals in 17 matches this season and will still be present on the 22nd of June when the club returns to pre-season, but only for a matter of days. Unlike with Thiago Silva, who will receive a 2-month extension until end of August so that he can battle in the Champions’ League for PSG, Choupo-Moting is poised to see no extension of any kind. Lille set to add Portuguese 1st division side Boavista as satellite club
Portuguese 1st division side Boavista’s representatives last night confirmed to local media that they had entered into exclusive negotiations with Ligue 1 side Lille owner Gérard Lopez for the Luxembourg businessman to acquire their club. Leonardo hits back at Lyon SD Juninho’s criticism of Neymar
Speaking to RMC Sport, PSG Sporting Director Leonardo hit back at Lyon Sporting Director Juninho’s criticism of Neymar, in an attack on the player’s character in an interview with The Guardian. “I don’t understand why (President) Aulas speaks so much about PSG. And Juninho, now, speaking of PSG and Neymar. It would be better for them to talk about their club. Mauricio Pochettino rejected an offer from AS Monaco
The Athletic report that Ligue 1 side AS Monaco’s first choice to replace Robert Moreno was ex-Tottenham and Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino, but the Argentinian rejected the offer, leading to Sporting Director Paul Mitchell offering the job to Niko Kovač instead. Pochettino has been without a club since November 2019, but rejected the proposal from friend Paul Mitchell, with the duo having worked together at Southampton between 2012 and 2014, as well as at Spurs between 2014 & 2017.
