Chelsea transfer news: Thibaut Courtois wants Eden Hazard to join him at La Liga giants Real Madrid

Thibaut Courtois is hoping his ‘buddy’ Eden Hazard can follow in his footsteps by swapping Chelsea for Real Madrid this summer.

The shot-stopper angered Blues fans for his outspoken approach before and after his transfer to the Spanish capital following the World Cup in Russia.

And his latest comments are once again expected to infuriate his former employers after attempting to coax Hazard to the Bernabeu.

The forward has done little deter rumours of a move to Real over the last few years, repeatedly telling Belgian news outlets he would like to make the move to Los Blancos.

And, with one year left on his current contract, Courtois believes his international colleague should follow him to Spain.

“It would be nice of course [if Hazard joined Real], but I cannot say much about it,” Courtois told VTM Nieuws.

“That is something he has to decide and Madrid must decide if they want him, because I do not know that either.

“But Eden is a top player and also my buddy, so if he came here it would be fun, but he has to make his choices.”

Asked whether he has spoken to Hazard about the possibility of a switch, Courtois revealed: “No, occasionally we laugh at the fact that we like to play football together but that is something I do not interfere in.

“We will see at the end of the season what can happen but Eden is a fantastic football player.”
