N’Golo Kante and Antonio Rudiger will be missing for Chelsea, but highly regarded academy midfielder Billy Gilmour may play, along with centre-back Marc Guehi right-back and Reece James.
Senior players Willy Caballero, Olivier Giroud and Emerson could also get some vital minutes.
United could also field youngsters as Brandon Williams and James Garner could feature. “We’ve not made a decision on who is going to play, but you’ll probably see the two of them [Garner and Williams],” manager Solskjaer said.
Paul Pogba is still out, but the boss has backed Fred to take over in midfield during the extended absence and praised Andreas Pereira.
