Everton news: Manager Marco Silva has players’ full backing, says Bernard
Bernard is confident Marco Silva can turn around Everton’s fortunes.
The Toffees boss is enduring a difficult debut season at Goodison Park and has won just two of his last eight Premier League games.
Everton, who have conceded 19 goals from set-pieces this term, were also dumped out of the FA Cup by Championship club Millwall last month.
When asked if Everton’s players still had confidence in Silva, Bernard, a summer signing from Shakhtar Donetsk, told Portuguese outlet Record: “Yes, and our work shows that every day.
“The squad is dedicated and seeks to understand each tactic, because each game requires a tactic.
“The concentration and the delivery of the players shows that we are with Marco Silva.
“As I said, each game requires a strategy and in every game he presents us with the smallest details, whether it be set-pieces, or how to surprise the other team offensively, for example.
“He is a coach who talks a lot with the players and who, if necessary, explains things five or six times if the player is not aware.
“He has great leadership and a lot of respect from the squad.”
Everton are ninth and six points off a Europa League spot and travel to relegation-threatened Cardiff next Tuesday.
