Sturridge will this summer bring to an end a six-year spell on Merseyside, in which he scored 67 goals in 160 appearances, having joined the Reds from Chelsea for £12million in 2013.

However, the majority of those games came in his first three years ar Anfield, with injury blighting his time on the pitch, meaning he has netted just 19 league goals in the past five seasons.

His last appearance for Liverpool came as a late substitute during the 4-0 Champions League semi-final second-leg win over Barcelona, which saw the Reds complete a remarkable turnaround, as they went on to win the trophy for a sixth time.

The England forward is currently enjoying a holiday in America, with the MLS a possible next destination.

He posted a video from a New York skyscraper on his Instagram, along with the caption: “NYC meeting vibes.”

Former Crystal Palace frontman Clinton Morrison recently told talkSPORT the 29-year-old is good enough to remain in the Premier League.

“I believe Daniel Sturridge is still good enough to play in the Premier League. He’s got great technical ability,” Morrison told talkSPORT.

“Before all of his injuries, for me personally, I think he was the best English striker in the county. I thought he was better than Harry Kane.

“He’s the most naturally-gifted finisher I’ve seen. He’s the most natural finisher in the Liverpool team, but you just can’t get him in that team because of the work-rate of Mane, Firmino and Salah.

“He’s had a lot of injuries, but I think he’d be a great addition for most Premier League teams.

“Maybe not in the top three or four, maybe not for Liverpool or Manchester City, but he could go to a team like Arsenal.

“I would love my old club Crystal Palace to get him and Leicester could be a good shout – he and Brendan Rodgers work well together.”
