French Football Federation announce provisional 2022/2023 budget increase to €266m

According to L’Équipe, the FFF announced on Saturday a slightly increased budget forecast, close to a pre-Covid level of €266m. Amateur football is set to benefit with a record €101m budget.

At its federal assembly in Nice on Saturday morning, the French Football Federation (FFF) presented its provisional revenue budget for the 2022-2023 season. Amounting to €266.4m, It has slightly increased and is “close to the one before the health crisis” according to Philippe Diallo, vice-president of the body.

The FFF’s income comes mainly from its commercial resources (€190.3m). The official body’s non-commercial resources (LFP contribution, UEFA/FIFA/State aid, LFP referees, etc.) amount to €66.1m. The FFF will devote 40% of this budget to amateur football and will give it €101.1m, the highest amount ever given to amateurs. For the 2021-22 season, it was €90m.

A ‘welcome bonus’  has been given by the League as part of the creation of its commercial company worth €20m – €10m of which is included in the 2022-2023 budget (the other half will be accounted for the following season). The FFF expects to spend €267.2m and to break even thanks to bonuses (€800,000) linked to Les Bleues’ performances at the Women’s Euro in July and the World Cup in Qatar from 21 November to 18 December.
