Gareth Bale transfer: Beijing Guoan to offer Real Madrid outcast deal to become highest-paid player in Chinese football history

Beijing Guoan are set to offer Real Madrid outcast Gareth Bale a deal to become the highest-paid player in Chinese football history, according to reports.

On Saturday, Bernabeu boss Zinedine Zidane said that he ‘hopes’ Bale leaves the club soon and expects him to seal a transfer away from the Bernabeu imminently.

After leaving the former Tottenham star out of Real’s matchday squad to face Bayern Munich in Houston, Zidane said: “He wasn’t included in the squad because the club is working on his departure and that’s why he didn’t play.

“We’ll have to see what happens in the coming days. We’ll have to see if it goes through tomorrow, if it does then all the better. Let’s hope, for everyone’s sake, that it happens soon. The club is dealing with the club that he’ll move to.

“We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.”

His remarks led to the winger’s agent Jonathan Barnett to hit out at the Frenchman, labelling the Los Blancos coach a ‘disgrace’.

And despite reported interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United, Bale could now be tempted by a move to China, according to The Telegraph.

Beijing Guoan are one of the few clubs in world football who could match or even exceed the Welshman’s £600k-a-week wages.

Argentine forward Ezequiel Lavezzi is currently the highest-paid player in China, commanding a £500k fee at Hebei China Fortune.

Howeve the Chinese Super League side have just 10 days to pull of the deal, with the transfer window in shutting on July 31.
