Hampshire Police release pictures of man they want to speak to after gas canister injures child at Southampton vs Liverpool
Hampshire Police have launched an appeal to speak to a man in connection with an incident during Liverpool’s 2-1 win at Southampton on Saturday.
A nitrous oxide canister was thrown from the away end into the home stand after Roberto Firmino had scored the Reds’ second goal.
The object hit a seven-year-old Southampton supporter, who suffered minor injuries.
A Hampshire Police statement, with images of the individual attached, read: “If you recognise this man or have any other information about this incident, please call 101 quoting 44190293624.
“Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

Goals from Firmino and Sadio Mane saw Liverpool climb to the top of Premier League after just two games.
But Jurgen Klopp’s side almost blew their two-goal lead when Danny Ings directed a shot wide late on after Adrian’s clanger had pulled one back for the Saints.
Manchester City and Manchester United had the chance to overtake the Reds, but were held by Tottenham and Wolves respectively.
