Harry Kane to Manchester United? Tottenham striker will ONLY join Man City, says former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara

Harry Kane is not going to join Manchester United and will instead only move to their local rivals Man City, according to former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara.

Kane has been linked with a big-money move to Old Trafford ever since he broke onto the scene at White Hart Lane, and rumours of a switch have renewed amid United’s ongoing struggles.

Last weekend, Red Devils legend Roy Keane told Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to just ‘go and get Kane from Spurs’, as ‘he’d score 20 goals a season for you with his eyes closed’.

Solskjaer was quizzed on Keane’s comments during his press conference ahead of United’s Europa League clash against Partizan Belgrade, saying: “Roy is quite straightforward isn’t he.

“There’s the Kanes and the Lewandowskis and ours are different types of players but I like someone who can finish half a chance and he’s one of the best but he’s a Tottenham player.”

Solskjaer’s dismissive comments come as no surprise, but United wanting Kane – an elite forward rated as one of the best in the world – is a given.

But do the Red Devils have any chance of signing Kane, who scored his ninth club goal of the season in Spurs’ 5-0 rout of Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday?

According to O’Hara, the former Tottenham midfielder, the answer to that question is ‘no’.

Speaking on Thursday’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, O’Hara said: “If you are going to go for £200million, are you going to go to Man United?

“No disrespect to them, even though they’ve had their great history, Tottenham are probably a better suited squad to where they are going.

“So if he is are going to leave Tottenham, surely he is going to go where he can win trophies. And, for me, that is not going to be at Man United.”

Big Al quizzed O’Hara on Kane possibly moving abroad, with Barcelona and Real Madrid both known to have targeted the England captain over recent years.

“I don’t think he’ll go to Spain,” he continued. “I think he wants the [Alan] Shearer record, the Premier League all-time scoring record.

“I think he’s going for it and I think he’s got a good chance.”

But asked by Big Al if Kane can break the record at Spurs, O’Hara replied: “No.

“I think if he is going to go it’s going to be Man City; it’s only Man City, for me, who can probably get him.

“Aguero is coming to the end and Jesus is a different type of player, so if they are to get somebody it would be Harry Kane.

“But does he leave Tottenham? And can they let him go? I don’t think they can.”
