How many matches will Paul Pogba miss? Man United star sent off in Champions League defeat to Paris Saint-Germain

Paul Pogba will miss Manchester United’s Champions League last 16 second-leg tie away to Paris Saint-Germain in March.

But the Frenchman will be able to come back if United can overturn the 2-0 deficit and reach the quarter-finals.

Presnel Kimpembe and Kylian Mbappe secured a first-leg victory for the Ligue 1 champions at Old Trafford.

And things got worse for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side when Pogba was shown a second yellow card for a late tackle on Dani Alves.

United now have a mountain to climb in the return clash in Paris on March 6.

The Red Devils will have to face PSG again without their influential midfielder but UEFA rules only ban red-carded players for one game meaning he will be able to return if they make it into the final eight.

That will be a hugely difficult task for Solskjaer and co after a chastening night for the Norwegian.

He said: “Paul is trying to get his body across and Dani Alves is clever enough to put his foot in there. Paul wants to shield the ball, he’s unlucky.

“Mountains are there to be climbed, you can’t lay down and say this is over. We will go there, play our game and improve from today. Today is a reality check for us.”

Pogba was first booked for a clumsy challenge on Thiago Silva just a couple of minutes after conceding a foul for a poor tackle on Marquinhos.

The 25-year-old was then given his marching orders in the final minute after PSG had struck twice in quick succession.

As United’s frustration began to boil over, Pogba lunged in and his studs seemed to catch Alves high on the shin, earning the Frenchman a second yellow card.
