Leeds United news: Marcelo Bielsa plans to explore Yorkshire countryside during Championship’s extended break
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa plans to spend time exploring the Yorkshire countryside during a rare break from the relentless Championship schedule.
The Argentine watched his side regain their place at the top of the league with a 2-1 victory over Swansea on Wednesday night, and they do not play again until Bolton travel to Elland Road on February 23.
The Whites then face 14 season-defining games which will determine whether or not they seal a long-awaited return to the Premier League, but first, ‘El Loco’ will draw a breath and take in the North’s more peaceful spots.
“I’ll take advantage of these days to rest,” he said.
“I like to walk and I like to visit the places I don’t know in this region. What I like to do the most is to visit this area of England.
“I have many secrets to discover here and I’ll take advantage of this time to be with my family and my friends.”
Leeds’ closest rivals, Norwich and Sheffield United, both play this weekend and Bielsa’s men could drop to third by the time they face Bolton.
Bielsa said: “When we win a game we can await the next game with serenity.
“The starters (in his team) will have a full rest from Thursday until Sunday. Those who played less will play Friday and Monday with the 23s.
“Those who are recovering from injury will take advantage of this time to recover well.”
