Leicester must pay 15% of £80m Harry Maguire fee to his former club Hull as defender nears Manchester United switch
Leicester will have to pay part of the £80million fee they receive for Harry Maguire to Hull.
talkSPORT revealed on Friday morning a world record deal had been agreed between Leicester and Manchester United for the defender.
The Tigers will only receive 15 per cent of the profit made by Leicester, equating to around £10.2m, after a clause was put in his contract.
Maguire spent three seasons at Hull between 2014 and 2017, with one of those campaigns a loan spell at Wigan, before he moved to Leicester for a fee of £17m.
United have been chasing Maguire’s signature for more than 12 months, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer desperate to strengthen his back-four.
The move will make the England international the most expensive defender of all-time, surpassing the £75m Liverpool spent on Virgil van Dijk in January 2018.

Former Arsenal midfielder Adrian Clarke believes Jonny Evans, Maguire’s defensive partner at the King Power Stadium, is a better defender.
Speaking about Maguire’s impending Old Trafford move on talkSPORT 2, Clarke said: “He is overpriced by around £25m at least, if not more than that.
“I see him as a good defender, but I certainly don’t see him as a great defender.
“I’d even argue that Jonny Evans, the man Manchester United disposed of and the man he was partnering last year at Leicester, is a better defender than Harry Maguire.”
