The Champions League winners will take on the Bundesliga side in South Bend, Indiana, in what will be their first game of their United States tour.
Since returning from their summer break, Liverpool have played two domestic friendlies, against Tranmere Rovers and Bradford, scoring nine goals over the course of those fixtures, with Rhian Brewster impressing.
Jurgen Klopp is still missing all of his first choice front three, with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane away at AFCON for Egypt and Senegal respectively with the latter in the final against Algeria, while Roberto Firmino featured for Brazil at the Copa America.
The attacking trio have been afforded an extended break and will return to Melwood later this month.
Virgil Van Dijk is in the squad and could get his first minutes on the pitch, since playing in the UEFA Nations League final for the Netherlands earlier in June.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Adam Lallana are likely to get more valuable playing time, as they step up their own personal recoveries from last season’s injury problems, while Brewster has looked sharp and scored in both matches.
Harry Wilson and Ryan Kent should also play feature the Germans.
