Manchester United lose teenage wonderkid Mipo Odubeko as the striker rejected new contract offer

One of Manchester United’s brightest young talents has left the club after turning down a new contract.

Mipo Odubeko may be just 16 but he is regarded as one of the best strikers in their academy, having netted 35 goals last season.

The Republic of Ireland Under-17 international has rejected the chance to remain with the Red Devils, though, as he believes his future is better served away from the club.

His contract expired at the end of June and it has sparked a frantic scramble for his signature, according to Mail Online.

Several overseas clubs are thought to be interested in signing Odubeko with Feyenoord, Bayern Munich and Genoa all reported to be ready to make a move.

Newcastle and Burnley are the English sides who have already shown an interest.

His 35 goals for Manchester United’s academy will no doubt put more clubs on alert following his decision to further his development in football away from Old Trafford.
