Manchester United transfer news: Gareth Bale ‘has dreams’ of Old Trafford as move from Real Madrid to China stalls
Gareth Bale reportedly still dreams of making a moving to Manchester United this summer.
The Wales international was set for a move to Chinese Super League side Jiangsu Suning before the deal collapsed due Real Madrid’s demands.
It is thought Real were demanding a transfer fee the Chinese side were willing to pay.
Bale was set to earn £1million a week at the club but that move will not be going ahead as Suning chose to sign Ivan Santini.
The 30-year-old now faces the prospect of staying at the LaLiga club or trying to find another side to join.
Spanish newspaper Marca claim the forward ‘has dreams’ to play for Manchester United, while Tottenham could be interested if they can find a way to pay his salary.
Bale is reportedly paid around £600,000-a-week at Madrid and the high wages have been a stumbling block to any move.
Prior to joining Spurs in 2007, United tried to bring him to Old Trafford and he has been repeatedly linked to Old Trafford throughout his six years in Madrid where he has won the Champions League four times.
His agent, Jonathan Barnett, has previously told talkSPORT how the star still loves playing for Real but has been left ‘hurt’ after the ‘disgusting’ treatment by supporters.
Bale was jeered and booed by fans throughout the season while his relationship with Zinedine Zidane appears to have hit an all-time low.

Zidane claimed the forward was ‘very close to leave’ after falling out of favour and added that a move would be ‘best for everyone’.
The transfer window in England closes in 10 days time with Real Madrid also expected to open talks with United about a deal for midfielder Paul Pogba.
